Upcoming Gig HORACE PINKER UNPLUG

With The Oxford Tavern in Wollongong up and shutting their doors, a bunch of planned shows have been affected, one of which is US pop-punk mob Horace Pinker. Their Sunday 15th August show has now been shifted, and unplugged. They'll play acoustic at the Town Hall Hotel in Newtown. Guests will be Andy from Steppin' Razor and Not Ok. Entry is free and the gig kicks off at 6PM.

Someone said rock 'n roll was in trouble? Well Musk are here to help. The band that features members from Nancy Vandal, Crapulous Gee Gaw and Fugg (Yup, someone found the time capsule buried last decade) have a debut self-titled EP available now and are set to launch it in such establishments at The Cabbage Tree Hotel in Fairy Meadow on Friday night. Saturday, Newcastle look out, Musk will be at the Lass O Gowrie Hotel and next Thursday 5th August is the big one, they'll bring their rock stylings to The Sando in Newtown. Having just wrapped up their quick little run of shows alongside The Nation Blue where they plugged their latest release 'Origins', A Death In The Family have announced a couple of headline shows before they head off to Europe later this year. You can catch the band at The Arthouse in Melbourne on August 21st and Spectrum in Sydney on August 27th. They will also be supporting Leatherface on the Poison City Weekender show at East Brunswick Club on September 18th, tickets are selling fast for that one and won't last.

The reality of youth depression has inspired The Getaway Plan to reunite for a one off music event. Revival – This Is Not The End Of Your Story has been put together in partnership with To Write Love On Her Arms, a non for-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. Revival is about raising awareness of the TWLOHA movement, aiming to stimulate conversation among young people about mental health issues and empower those struggling with depression with the knowledge that help and recovery is possible. The Getaway Plan will revive from the shadows and headline two shows at Billboard The Venue on Friday 24th September. This will be their first performance since breaking up in 2009. Supporting the Melbourne quartet for both shows are local boys Stealing O’Neal, alongside Built On Secrets (U18 only), Secrets In Scale (18+ only) and Cheerleader (both shows). Perth lads, The Scotch Of Saint James have taken a short moment of respite. Since the beginning of the year they have been playing sell out local headline shows, doing WA tour support to the likes of Bluejuice, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Yves Klein Blue, British India, Numbers Radio and more, embarking on their own national tours, hitting festival stages such as Groovin The Moo and released their debut LP Vigilante Neck Tie Party. They have a headline show at The Den this Friday night with guests The Reserves, Ruby Boots & Boston and Chevy. The band have also picked up the WA tour support for The Art later this month, and they'll also play along side Sugar Army at the Rottnest Festival held at the end of August. Sydney's The Optionals have been working in the studio with Lachlan Mitchell and the end result is an EP that they plan to release later in the year, in the meantime they have a handful of supports coming up. Next Thursday night they play the Annandale Hotel with Cola Wars and Behind Crimson Eyes, the following Wednesday (14th) they support SNFU at The Wall in Leichhardt. In August they'll support Horace Pinker on their Sydney show at The Excelsior and in September they join Leatherface on their Sydney show.
