MEREDITH ANNOUNCEMENT DRAWS NEAR
Posted by Bomber on Wednesday, August 04 @ 10:12:15 CDT (112 reads)
The Meredith Music Festival turns 20 this year. Yes, she started twenty years ago - as a party for about 200 people. For context, back then Bob Hawke was PM, two-dollar notes were in circulation, the VFL had just become the AFL, Nirvana released Nevermind, and the world wide web was something for scientists. There was no ‘festival scene’. Meredith has always been a pioneer, blazing her own trail, doing only what was right for the festival. To this day there are no commercial sponsors, no commercial signage, one stage only and she’s still BYO. You can still bring a couch into the Amphitheatre and lounge on it all weekend without missing a thing. The 20th Meredith Music Festival happens on December 10, 11 & 12, 2010 at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre on the Nolan Farm. The Subscriber Ticket Ballot is open now. Old subs should check their email. New and yet-to-be-subs head to mmf.com.au Lineup announcement soon.

THE LOST WEEKEND FESTIVAL CANCELLED
Posted by Bomber on Sunday, February 28 @ 18:28:11 CST (309 reads)
The Lost Weekend festival that was set to take place this coming weekend has been cancelled. A statement says "After moving from Ivory Rocks to the Brisbane River Stage, The Lost Weekend has had insufficient time to achieve critical mass and we have been left with no choice but to cancel the event. As local promoters it was our dream to run an event similar to other regional events like Meredith in Victoria and to bring such an event to SE QLD. This is one of the saddest and most difficult decisions we have ever had to make. We apologise to the real music fans that have supported The Lost Weekend and purchased tickets. A Full Refund will be available to all of you from the point of purchase next week. We also apologise to the bands who had committed to our dream."
