MELBOURNE REVOLUTION ROCK LINEUP ANNOUNCED

The lineup has been announced for the Melbourne leg of this years Revolution Rock - A Tribute To Joe Strummer event, a now staple event on the Sydney calendar (August 28th - Annandale Hotel), this is the first time the event lands in Melbourne. Venue is The Birmingham Hotel and the date is Saturday September 4th. The lineup will feature The Ska Vendors, Madonna, This War, The Tearaways and Garage Joe. The previously announced Sydney lineup will feature The Domnicks, The Rumjacks, The City Lights, Madonna and The Tearaways, tickets are already on sale and selling fast for that one, grab one from The Annandale now. Keep in mind last year sold out before the first band took to the stage.

They've birthed a grimy hardcore giant and hailed a more metal-centric destroyer, but in 2010, Cancer Bats dropped their heaviest and deadliest offering to date with 'Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones'. Due to licensing issues, the all ages Scary Kids Scaring Kids Perth show for the Astor Theatre has been cancelled and replaced by an Under 18's show to be held Tuesday August 17th at YMCA HQ in Leederville, and an Over 18's show will now happen Wednesday 18th August at The Rosemount Hotel. After 8 years, Arizona sextet Scary Kids Scaring Kids have called it a day but have plans to go out on a high by mounting their 'Final Nightmare' tour. The band played their last U.S. date on March 6th in San Diego and will now head to Australia & New Zealand during August & September to "say goodbye in person to all the friends that have ever supported us, end the band on a positive note and start new chapters in our individual lives." A self financed EP, 'After Dark', two full lengths, 'The City Sleeps in Flames' and 'Scary Kids Scaring Kids' under their belts, the band are renowned for their live show that they have unleashed on our shores a number of times now. With drummer James not taking part in the final shows, his replacement Derek Smith (Four Letter Lie) picked up the sticks, he'll do so on this tour as well, his alter ego and hip hop project Mod Sun will open the shows plugging his album 'I'll Buy Myself'. BOMBSHELL PRESENTS - REVOLUTION ROCK - A TRIBUTE TO JOE STRUMMER

From front man of The Clash to his work with The Mescalero's, Joe Strummer was, and still is a massive influence to so many bands and people's lives worldwide. Joe sadly passed away at his home in December 2002. To pay respects to the great man a night of homage happens annually in Sydney and this year the night is taking place at The Annandale Hotel, Sydney on Saturday 28th August. Year on year this show has been a great success and 2010 sees the fourth annual event for Revolution Rock. In 2009 it took only half an hour from doors opening for the event to be sold-out and was one of the very last shows to be held at the iconic Hopetoun Hotel. Bands paying homage for 2010 are: The Domnicks (WA) featuring Nick Sheppard from The Clash, The Rumjacks, The City Lights, Madonna (VIC) and The Tearaways (VIC). 2010 will also see Revolution Rock expand into Melbourne, at The Birmingham Hotel on Saturday 4th September. Having previously visited our shores to play on both Bluesfest and Soundwave Festivals, as well as some memorable sideshows, Canadian soul / reggae / rock outfit Bedouin Soundclash will treat fans in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney to their entertaining and soulful tunes as they return to Australia this October. The band is fresh out of the recording studio where they just completed their forthcoming album with the legendary King Britt at the controls. It'll be the long awaited follow up to 2007's stellar 'Street Gospels'. Last year the band released a tour EP 'Where Have The Songs Played Gone To?' and singer Jay Malinowski released his debut solo album 'Bright Lights & Bruises'. They also found themselves picking up a new drummer in Sekou Lumumba. The next installment of the Blood, Sweat & Beers will take place once again at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney on the 10th July. This time around the lineup will feature the might of Melbourne's Mid Youth Crisis, an out of retirement Gilgamesh, more Melbourne artillery from Identity Theft, Fear Like Us and The Go Set. Wollongong's latest ska offering Steel City All Stars and further repping Sydney will be Suprise Wasp, Between The Devil And The Deep, Chinese Burns Unit and Lo! The acoustic stage will once again return, with artists to be announced down the track, your taste buds once again treated to Coopers and Jagermeister, clothing giveaways from Atticus, vouchers from the just launched Rough 'n Ready crew and all the noise making equipment looked after by the folks at Billy Hydes Stage Systems. The Unearth / Black Dahlia Murder tour which kicks off at the end of the month has had a change of venues for the Brisbane U18 show. The Fort will now host the event and not The Hi-Fi. This means the show now All Ages and doors open 5:30pm. All other details remain the same with the show still held on Tuesday 1st June. Tickets available from oztix.com.au.
