Recent visitors to our shores, Saosin have decided to move forward minus their singer Cove, the band made the announcement on their forum stating "After 5 years with Cove, we have decided to part ways. so it will be a new experience for us, not knowing what to expect in the vocal dept, who will replace him, or if we will even find a replacement this century. We and Cove are all still good friends and on good terms. There was, and is no bad blood, etc."

The 3rd installment of the Jonesez ‘Basement Videos’ will be the new film clip for the track 'Best Friends'. As with the first two videos, Mark will be playing multiple roles and the whole thing will be shot in his own home basement studio. The difference with this clip is that Jonesez wants your help to produce it. Using Kickstarter, you can directly contribute to the outcome and allow Mark and friends to include all new elements in the clip so that it can be available both online and on TV. Things have been pretty busy down in the Missing Link lair in Melbourne. Head over to their website and you'll see they have launched a new site, with many new features. First off they have launched a digital store where you can download tracks and albums with an ever expanding catalogue. From singles, to new artists, the local band that just walked in off the street and all those tracks you thought were lost, a bunch of Aussie music from the 70's and 80's. Of course you can still order physical cd's and vinyl, and pop into the Melbourne store to do your shopping. Check it all out [Here].

Against Me! has welcomed former Hold Steady keyboardist Franz Nicolay as a fifth member to the band for touring purposes. The band is set to release their fifth full length White Crosses on June 4th through Sire / Warner. Already gearing up for the new album, the band has released a four track EP titled I Was a Teenage Anarchist, which is available now through iTunes [here] for $2.99. After a long absence due to line-up shuffles and rehearsing/writing songs for their debut full-length Between the Devil and the Deep have posted a brand new song called ‘Souvenirs’ on their page [Here], the song will be available as a double A-side limited edition single with another track called ‘God hates the new Facebook’ which you will be able to purchase at shows and online soon. The launch will take place at The Sando in Newtown on Friday 11 June w/ Grand Fatal, Like...Alaska & Surprise Wasp. These two songs will also appear on the aforementioned album which will be recorded by Lachlan Mitchell and will surface later in the year.

Gyroscope have revealed the video clip for the second single from their 'Cohesion' album. The video is for the track 'Baby I'm Gettin' Better' The video was filmed using a concept known as live stop motion and saw the Perth based band taking in Sydney sites including Newtown’s famous Gould’s Book Store, Carriage Works, the Watson’s Bay Lifehouse and St Vincent’s Hospital. You can watch the clip [Here].  The single will get it's live debut on Gyroscope’s now rapidly approaching Cohesion Tour. Throughout June, the band will be out on the road supported by Melbourne stalwarts The Vasco Era & long time Sydney buddies After the Fall. Tickets are on sale now.

Two clips from the Straight Edge documentary 'EDGE - perspectives on drug free culture' featuring Ray Cappo and Ian MacKaye, have been posted online. The clips show Ray Cappo talking about growing up as a teenager and his first experience with alcohol. Cappo now works as a Yoga teacher in Beverly Hills [clip]. Ian MacKaye talks about militance in straight edge and the role of caffeine [clip]. The documentary traces the historical development of the Straight Edge subculture from its early roots in the beginning of the 1980s to this day. It will be relased on DVD by Compassion Media in the US in the coming weeks.

After 15 years away from the stage, Wollongong’s stoner rock sons Tumbleweed are enjoying their recent comeback so much that they've decided to make it permanent. Their reunion shows late last year - which included a sold out Hi Fi Bar, Meredith Music Festival, Homebake, Big Day Out and a New Years Eve barn burner at St. Kilda's Espy Hotel - saw the 'Weed belting out classics such as 'Daddy Long Legs' and 'Stoned' to both old fans and new. With brand new material currently being written for a forthcoming album, plus a double CD in the works which will include all of the bands Waterfront releases, the boys certainly won’t be slowing anytime soon. Next show for the band will be June 25th at The Hi-Fi in Melbourne.
