Day Of Contempt, are no longer. The latest change to the lineup has seen vocalist Ben leave the band, with him leaving the band has also decided to leave the Day Of Contempt name behind. Dan will be taking on vocal duties fulltime and the band will hunt for a bass player. The new name is The Dear & Departed. Read More for the band's statement.
Hey everyone,
So in the last week weve had some news with the band that noone saw coming. Due to personal reasons Ben our singer has had to leave the band. Im sure this will come as a shock to everyone, as you can imagine, it has to us also. Since moving to the States we have met and made friends with so many amazing people. We will always think our fans are the best and we know that you guys will stick with us through this hard time. From Canada to Australia and New Zealand, England and Europe.....you guys are the reason why we do what we do, and we will never forget your loyalty and commitment to us.
This by NO means is the end to the band. Dan will be taking over all the singing now and we will be looking for a bass player. We know that you guys will push on with us through this as much as Ben will be missed. We have more touring with A7X in Europe/England coming up, Alexisonfire, summer fests and much much more, we cant wait to get to places weve been wanting to for a while, and of course play to everyone that made the last few tours, GC,The Used, Alexisonfire, A7X, so AMAZING.
We do however need to change the name of the band.
In Day of Contempt we experienced more than we ever thought we could and travelled places we only dreamt of. Ben has been there since the beginning, so we think its only fair that now he cant be with us, its right to finish this chapter of our lives. The new name of Day of Contempt will be..........

We hope you guys like it as much as we do. We will be changing this profile in the next few days. Again, we know the band has been through some changes, and we know that despite this, we will move forward with you guys and it will be better than ever!
