THE SUICIDE MACHINES
They've been together as a band for 14 years, survived five Warped tours, countless lineup changes, the "third wave of ska," and the rise, fall, and return of punk-pop, but as Detroit's Suicide Machines release their 6th album in 8 years, “War Profiteering Is Killing Us All” , their music and mission are stronger and clearer than ever. "I know it's a total cliché for a band to say, 'This is the best material we've ever done,' so I would never say that," founding member Dan Lukacinsky states modestly. "But what I can say is this is the best record we've made in quite a few years."
Since core bandmates Lukacinsky and Jason Navarro formed Suicide Machines in 1991, the group has released five powerful punk manifestos: Destruction By Definition (1996), Battle Hymns (1998), The Suicide Machines (2000), Steal This Record (2001) and A Match And Some Gasoline (2003). With 2003’s A Match and Some Gasoline, The Suicide Machines found a new label home, with SideOneDummy Records, as well as a new production situation, working with Bill Stevenson (of Descendents/Black Flag fame) at his Blasting Room, a relationship that continues on War Profiteering Is Killing Us All.
Whether fans are paying attention to the Suicide Machines' potent political messages or equally potent punk melodies, it's undeniable that War Profiteering... is ultimately in itself quintessential Suicide Machines, giving the listener plenty of portals into the music and 14 convincing reasons to listen!.
