THE BAND What’s the story behind the band name? It started off as a joke band, me and boz (guitarist) used to play a poker machine called 50 Lions and we won a few times on it.. So we named the band after it. When did the band begin and how did it come about? April / May 2005, We got bored How would you describe your sound to the average Joe on the street? Hardcore with groove. What’s your current release? Tell us a little about it… Time Is The Enemy, it’s the best thing we’ve put out so far.. like It or hate it What image do you think / hope your music conveys? None In five years time the band will be… Who knows OFF THE STAGE What was your first introduction to music that made you think seriously about playing it? I’ve never really wanted to play it,it just sort of happened. What was your first band name and what style did you play? Shoot to kill, It was a risotto of every style…it sucked but we were only 15 and 16 so you cant really blame us. Tell us three albums you couldn’t live without in your collection Nas – Illmatic Rise And Fall – Into Oblivion No Warning – Ill Blood Best piece of musical advice you’ve been given. It's not what you know its who you know. Two groups/artists you’d love to take out on the road Down To Nothing (again), Rise And Fall. Favourite song of your group? The new ones we don’t play yet. The thing you most look forward to just before a tour is Food and shopping. The thing you least look forward to before a tour is Lack of sleep and getting sick. When your not doing band related stuff, what are you usually found doing? Working and sleeping. ON THE STAGE / ROAD What gear do you use? Whatever mic that’s supplied. Favourite place (city/town/country) you’ve toured… and why? New Zealand.. Great scenery, nice people The best show you’ve ever played was… and why? Bad summer tour early 06 @ the gold coast… terrible PA..massive room…400 kids losing their minds. After a week in the van/bus on tour which band member will have the messiest section, and what would we most likely find stashed there? Mickey buys 1000000 magazines so they end up ripped and all over the floor. As well as the dirty clothes and rubbish, no one is worse than each other. Who in your group has the worst “bad habit” on tour, and what is it? Dan and boz talking to their girlfriends 1000000 times a day on the phone. Most embarrassing moment on tour? None Give us a good quick ‘on the road’ story, funny, embarrassing, memorable, whatever… Driving from Cooma to Wangaratta. 200km of road.. 4hrs of driving, a kangaroo jumped into our van and I patted a wombat. Your manager calls and says the venue you are about to play really wants to keep you happy, what’s the first thing you chuck on the rider? Food RIGHT NOW What’s getting the most spins in your stereo right now? The Ghost Inside Tell us a band or artist everyone should check out and why… Antagonist, theyre a great band from New Zealand that come out a fair bit and do really well, they're heavy, sincere and great guys.
