Public Enemy to perform ‘Fear Of A Black Planet’

Enigmatic hip-hop luminaries, Public Enemy are set to perform their ground breaking album ‘Fear Of A Black Planet‘ in full at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel this December 29th to celebrate 20 years since it’s release. Tickets will go on sale this Friday 8th October from the venue. The group will also play the album in full on their appearances at Falls Festival in Victoria and Tasmania and Brisbane’s Sunset Sounds Festival.

The Chariot announce new release.

Georgia’s The Chariot have announced the release of their new album, ‘Long Live‘, for late November in the US via Good Fight Music. Behind the desk on ‘Long Live‘ is seasoned producer Matt Goldman (Underoath, Four Letter Lie), who has also worked on several past records by the band, such as ‘Wars and Rumors of Wars‘, ‘The Fiancée‘, ‘Unsung‘ EP, and ‘Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead And Nothing Is Bleeding‘. Here Come The Birds offer free tunes.

Newcastle 5 piece Here Come the Birds have made their latest album ‘Young People Never Die‘ along with their debut EP available for free download. Recorded with Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect) at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne, the album takes influences from Brand New, Thrice, The Killers and Duran Duran. Project Mayhem back on the stage.

Perth’s rock / punk outfit Project Mayhem have been laid up in songwriting hibernation for a while, but now are ready to hit the stage and show off their new tracks with a couple of hometown shows this month. This Saturday night they’ll play Blac Blocs CD Launch at The Civic Hotel in Inglewood, and next Saturday 16th they’ll be at the Fly By Night in Fremantle for the Sea Shepherd Benefit gig. As for recordings, we can expect the first single from their forthcoming debut self-titled album in the next few weeks, keep your eyes [Here].

Interview – Anberlin

A few weeks ago, Florida natives Anberlin released their fifth and most ambitious studio album, “Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place”. The band will bring themselves back tour familiar shores early next year as a part of Soundwave Festival. Deborah Konopnicki had a chat to lead singer Stephen Christian about the band’s new direction, his fond memories of Soundwave in the past and about the massive role that Australia’s support has played in the band’s progression.
