Melbourne’s Chaingun will play in Sydney for the first time next week. The band features Matt Maunder from Mindsnare on vocals and Bomber (Within Blood, Depression, Mindsnare etc..) on drums. Their approach has its roots in the bands that they grew up listening to in the ‘80s, such as Black Sabbath, Venom, Celtic Frost and Black Flag. The end result is a loud, heavy, no-bullshit four piece, driven by monster riffs and Maunder’s gravelly vocals, as showcased on the four song 12″ EP that they released last year through Midnight Funeral Records.
