THE BAND
How did the band first come to exist? Lyndsay and myself. A couple dudes who grew up together playing footy. Got put in a music class together in the later years high school. Something that started so unserious turned into what it is today.
How long has the band been going? The thought was there for a while before hand, but we weren’t properly established until 2009.
Any particular story behind the name? Saviour comes from an underlying meaning of self belief.
What’s your most recent release? Tell us a little about it… We have recently released a new album ‘First Light To My Death Bed.’ The album has a lot of back story being a concept album and all. Watching the music videos we have recently released ‘Jaded’, ‘Morning’ and ‘Stories’ would be the best way to sum up the plot.
Got a personal stand out achievement of your band to date? Achievements seem to wear off much quicker than they are achieved. I remember playing the bands first show was a really big deal for us at the time. Then we reached the pinnacle of touring for the first time and landing some really cool shows and tours. But in recent times, signing over to UNFD and the new album seems to top our other previous highlights.

OFF THE STAGE
What was your first introduction to music that made you think seriously about playing it? Well as a young chap, the nu metal wave got me on the heavy music path. Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park were definitely the gateway. As for getting into the music scene. Growing up watching bands like Miles Away and Break Even in Perth were definitely a major influence in getting me involved with this endeavour.
Any particular band / album or song that you personally credit as a major influence? Besides the bands mentioned in the previous question. Once we were in, everyone’s music was influential to us though I feel as if our roots still seemed to matter the most.
Your first band name, and what style did you play? Her Face Burning, or Burn The Skyline… hahahah shitcore
Most prized music related item you own? My condenser mic I use for pre production. Only cause it’s expensive as shit! Wouldn’t care about it otherwise.
When you’re not doing band related stuff, what are you usually found doing? Trying to write good lyrics, networking or hassling my manager!
The thing you most look forward to just before a tour is… Being nice to my girlfriend, sleep and showers hahaha
The thing you least look forward to before a tour is.. Organising myself. Forever forgetting stuff!

ON THE STAGE
When on offer, what’s your one must have item on the rider? VB
Favourite place you’ve toured… and why? Queensland. Got good mates up there and weather is always the best
Most memorable show you’ve played? and why? Tough question. Have played quite a few memorable ones around. Might have to get back to you on that one Eddie…
Got a favourite song to play live? Unstoppable. Im lazy and everyone seems to know the words to that one. Sorta works out for both of us haha
Any embarrassing on stage moments come to mind? Mt Gambier. Thought I was killing it on stage till I tripped on myself and face planted. Life sucks.
Any pre-show rituals? Go to the toilet! Nearly learnt that the hard way this one time.
What do you find is the hardest aspect of touring in a band today? Lack of sleep and showers. Being poor. Trying not to eat Maccas.

RIGHT NOW
Last song you listened to? Defeater- Empty Glass (classic)
Last album you acquired? Marilyn Manson Discography haha
Which band or album is currently on high rotation? Defeater, Being as an ocean, Heart in hand, counterparts to name a few
Tell us an up and coming band or artist you think we should go and listen to right now? Anchored and Common bond. Bands killin it in WA and ready to take over the east coast!
What’s on the cards for the next few months for the band? Album release / tour.

IF ONLY…
You can pick any one album for your band to cover in full, what would it be and why? Linkin Park – Hybrid Theory. Spent way too many hours as a young girl listening to that album
You can pick any one band / artist to cover one of your albums in full, what would it be, and why? Slipknot.
One band you wish you were able to see live but never had the chance? Korn, but Soundwave are making dreams come true by bringing them over this March :)
One venue you have yet to play that you would love to? Would love to play a game of footy on the MCG haha
The chance comes up to fill in for a member of a band for one tour, which band would it be, and why? Slipknot again. Playing in a mask would be hectic!
A headline tour overseas comes up, tell us two bands you’d take along to support your band. Vices and Sierra perhaps. I love their styles. A couple Aussie band I can’t get enough of at the moment.
