In an era where reunion tours are about as surprising as finding another grey hair in your already receding hairline, few bands play so rarely that certain milestones creep up on you, like realising you have been a band for 15 years! It was 1996 when little Thomas Lyngcoln and Dancin’ Dan Mckay started jamming in old Hobart town as The Nation Blue. It was 5 years later that they jumped ship and headed to the mainland, picking up Matt Weston and releasing their debut album “Blueprint for Modern Noise’ in 2001. A lot happens in 15 years. 4 albums, A million tours, Litres of blood lost, dislocated kneecaps, running from favela drug raids with machine guns, Dave Grohl, Tinnitus. You also get fat. To celebrate survival, The Nation Blue are heading out on the road with a set full of the old shit. For all three shows, they are dragging out noise terrorists Lo! (for fans of Breach, Old Man Gloom, Converge), and Firearms. The Nation Blue will also be giving out an unreleased recording to their facebook buddies, so you better get with facebook.com/thenationblue Click below to expand this post and watch a promo video for the shows, and see the dates.
