Australia Day at The Tote
on January 16th, 2011Every year, the meaning and connotations of Australia day become more and more removed from what it actually means to live in this country and why we are able to have a specific day celebrate many things – one of those things many believe needs to be celebrated is freedom, no matter where you come from or what way you got here. This Australia day – (January 26th), there will be an all day show at The Tote in Collingwood to raise funds for The Refugee Council of Australia. Which will go towards helping with legal advice for refugees, providing settlement support for refugees and also raising general awareness. Playing the event will be The Nation Blue, Coerce, Arrows, The Gun Runners, Hawaiian Islands, Anchors, Headaches, Brainwaves, Jerk Store, Luca Brasi, High Heels, Jamie Hay, Darren Gibson, Arturo and Zounds. $15 will get you all that from midday.
