Brian Fallon has shared another new track from his forthcoming new album, ‘Sleepwalkers‘, due out February 9th on Island Records.
The latest taste is titled ‘If Your Prayers Don’t Get to Heaven‘ – and you can check it out below.
“I took a Motown beat and some fingerstyle guitar and wrote a letter for the times when we feel like our prayers and dreams seem to hit nothing but ceilings. When really, they’re being looked after by our loved ones until they leave the waiting room.“
It follows on from the release of a performance clip for the single ‘Forget Me Not‘ shot in a small club setting showing the power and intimacy of Fallon’s relationship with his fans.
If you missed that one, check it out below.
Fallon – accompanied by his high-energy backing band, The Howling Weather – will kick off 2018 on a European headline tour, supported by Dave Hause with scheduled for stops in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Ireland through February and March. He also announced plans for a major North American tour, set to get underway March 27th and then continue through late May. Hopefully we can see some Australian action at some point in 2018.
‘Sleepwalkers‘ sees Fallon once again pushing timeless rock ‘n’ roll into the modern era, recasting British Invasion rock, first generation UK punk, and American pop and soul into a near irresistible sound he’s dubbed – with a nod and a wink towards The Who – as “Heavy R&B.” Recorded earlier this year at New Orleans’ Parlor Recording Studio with producer Ted Hutt – the man behind the board for The Gaslight Anthem’s 2008 breakthrough, ‘The ’59 Sound‘ – the album is yet another sterling example of Fallon’s always adventurous artistry, this time fueled by the New Jersey-based tunesmith’s interest in the Vox Continental, the distinctive organ used by favorite artists spanning The Animals and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to The Specials and Elvis Costello and the Attractions.
International pre-orders for the new album are available now [Here].
Known far and wide as singer/guitarist of The Gaslight Anthem, as well as such outfits as The Horrible Crowes and Molly & The Zombies, Fallon made his solo debut with 2015’s masterful ‘Painkillers‘. The album drew widespread critical applause upon its release.
