In what has been another epic year on the pile of them they have now built, 2017 has seen The Smith Street Band release their fourth album, play some of the country’s finest theatres and festivals, tour North America, the UK and Europe, and launch their very own label, Pool House Records.
Now the band are plotting Pool House Party, a huge line-up, spread over two stages at Coburg Velodrome on Saturday 17th March, 2018.
From early residencies selling out nights at The Old Bar and The Birmingham Hotel over five years ago it’s been a steady rise for The Smith Street Band. Their second album launch sold out the much loved Tote, their third saw three nights sold out at the iconic Corner Hotel, while off the back of their latest release ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me‘ the band sold out two nights at Melbourne’s prestigious Forum Theatre.
2018’s Pool House Party will not only showcase The Smith Street Band’s ever-growing catalogue of music but also celebrate the friends they’ve collected along the way. With many more acts yet to be announced, Pool House Party, whilst there may not be a pool, will have rides, some of Melbourne’s favourite food trucks and of course loads of great music.
Tickets are on sale 9am today. Get further details [Here].
Today also sees the release of a new film clip for ‘Passiona‘, the fourth single from ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me‘. The clip was directed by Chris Matthews, who was also behind the camera on previous clip for ‘Shine‘.
“We shot the video on a lovely sunny day about a week ago. We meandered around the streets of Footscray before driving out to a tiny town called Korweinguboora at the base of The Wombat State Forest for a bit of bush cricket and a barbeque!“
