A week out from their first international tour, Sydney’s The Great Awake have shared a new single and film clip before they head out the door for Japan.

Hedging Bets‘ see’s the band grow as songwriters while standing firm in their punk rock roots. Melding raw garage power and tuneful melodies it is a bittersweet celebration of the desire to pursue teenage dreams while balancing responsibilities that come with adulthood.

Shot mid tour in guitarist, Damien Day’s back yard the clip features a raft of friends and band mates including Sydney’s Nerdlinger and Japan’s Mexican Age and The Frankner.

Its colourful chaos in the suburbs and there is literally so much going on you’re going to have to watch it more than once to see everything.

The new single comes a year after releasing their debut album ‘Reasons for Leaving‘, which they took on a five state Australian tour as well as a number of supports, most recently with The Decline and A Wilhelm Scream.
