Newcastle’s Safe Hands today kick off a run of dates alongside Sail On! Sail On! and Have/Hold at The Eastern Hotel in Ballarat.
Friday night you can catch them at The Reverence Hotel in Footscray and Saturday at Edinburgh Castle in Adelaide.
Next week the tour visits Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra. Every show will see its headliner decided by coin-toss on the day with live streaming on Facebook to keep the world abreast.

To co-incide with the tour, Safe Hands have released a video clip for the track ‘Born In The Last Shower‘ which appears on their album ‘Tie Your Soul To Mine‘ which is available now on Lost Boy Records. Acclaim hasn’t stopped pouring in since the release of the album; their efforts long-listed for the Australian Music Prize and while the boys have laid low for a spell leading up to the release they are now refreshed and their live show is as tempestuous and fervent as ever.
The ‘Born In The Last Shower‘ video was directed by band guitarist Anthony Webster and filmed by longtime collaborator Joe Andersons in and around Woodriver Studios, co-owned by Andersons and Safe Hands drummer Isaac Gibson.
The video is a love letter to the band’s hometown of Newcastle and its penchant towards natural disasters.
Vocalist Benjamin Louttit comments;
“We set an afternoon aside and drove around taking touristy photos. The images tread a fine line between tongue-in-cheek and heartfelt which I’m really happy with. We definitely wanted to take a different approach to your run-of-the-mill lyric video.“
The clip is the third to come from ‘Tie Your Soul To Mine‘.
