Purveyors of dirty martinis and ritualistic rock’n’roll Pagan return from the shadows once again to unveil their new single ‘Wine and Lace‘.

Recorded at Black Lodge Studios with Mike Deslandes (Coerce, The Nation Blue), ‘Wine and Lace‘ follows their last single ‘Good Grief‘ and arrives mere weeks before the band make the pilgrimage with Totally Unicorn on their national Dream Life Tour this September and October.

Take a listen to ‘Wine and Lace‘ below.

With a dance-floor worthy backbeat, gloomy hooks and fierce, guttural power led by frontwoman Nikki Brumen’s chilling roar, ‘Wine and Lace‘ chronicles the bizarre and horrific events surrounding the Lawson family massacre last century. On Christmas day of 1929, Charles Lawson brutally murdered his wife and six of their seven children before taking his own life. Their bodies were discovered lying in a row, each with arms crossed and heads lying on a rock, like a pillow. They were wearing the very same outfits purchased for a family portrait that immortalized the Lawsons on film, just days before they were met with a gruesome death.

Formed in Melbourne two short years ago, Pagan released their first single ‘Heavy Repeater’ in March 2015. Their first ever show on Good Friday last year was a sell-out, and showcased the quartet’s heavy metal & hardcore punk-inspired energy that has seen them share stages with the likes of Clowns, High Tension and Bodyjar, amongst others.

Fast forward to present day and Pagan now have four singles under their belt, including an explosive video for last single ‘Good Grief‘, a brooding and intense five-minute opus which showcases their sonic spectrum, and offers a visual commentary on greater societal pressures that can force women against each other to reach goals and achieve success.
