The South Bank Studio is a new lease on life for one of the Adelaide Western Suburbs most trusted rehearsal and recording spaces.
It’s previous iteration, Hillside Recordings, was held in high regard throughout many of Adelaide’s various music circles. The sale of the business was regrettable for founder Matt Hills, but the studio continues in the same capacity, instead under the watchful eye of new owner Alex Upton.
Now with a new name and a handful of improvements, the space looks to flourish and foster a new generation of musicians.
Already home to a handful of Adelaide’s finest – The Hard Aches, Horror My Friend, West Thebarton Brothel Party and Sincerely, Grizzly all make use of the three air conditioned rehearsal rooms, each room with a resident drum kit.
The studio itself has been outfitted with some new recording equipment and alongside the signature drum room, is poised to continue producing quality records – but now with the aim of being more affordable.
