Paper Arms recently announced that they will be calling time on the band after some eight years of action that has seen them take the band from Adelaide stages right across the world.
The band released three full length albums, ‘Days Above Ground‘, ‘The Smoke Will Clear‘ and most recently, ‘Great Mistakes‘.
If you don’t have them, you can get all three of them on CD for the ridiculous price of $11 from Poison City E-Store [Here] while stocks last. ‘Great Mistakes‘ vinyl is just $15 on that link too. You know what to do if you don’t already have them.
The band aren’t disappearing without a farewell, and the first of those is this Saturday January 30th when they’ll play The Reverence Hotel in Footscray with guests Totally Unicorn, My Echo and Laura Palmer.
A home town farewell in Adelaide was also announced for February 26th at The Jade Monkey. The full lineup for that has just been announced and joining the action are Stolen Youth, Fear Like Us and Hightime. Stay tuned for more details on that one.
Earlier, the band issued this statement.
The time has come for Paper Arms to call it a day. This band has done so much more than we ever thought it would. 3 full lengths, 3 European tours, so many trips around Australia, tours with so many of our favourite bands… and we stayed friends through it all. There’s no bad blood. We’re just at a point in our lives where we’re ready for something new.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved since we started in 2008. We’re proud of the music we made together. And we’re so, so grateful for everyone that supported us over the years. As a final thank you and farewell we have a final East Coast show in Melbourne on January 30 with our friends Totally Unicorn, The Sinking Teeth and Laura Palmer, and a FINAL, final show on February 26 on home soil in Adelaide. It would mean the world to us to have you there!
All the love! – Paper Arms.
