The formerly & very cleverly titled annual Schooner or Later Sydney Harbour Cruise has undergone a name change due the boys over in Parliament House getting their knickers in a knot. What we hasn’t changed though is the amount of kick arse acts and covers you’ll be seeing on the day.
Firstly, throw a circle around Saturday 27th February.
You’ll be able to catch Adelaide’s Hightime running through the best of Sublime, and some of their own creations.
Dan Potthast is finally heading back to Australia after a few year’s absence, the former MU330 geek rocker will be playing 2 sets on the day – The best of his own tunes, plus a set of covers you don’t want to miss.
Sydney’s self-proclaimed worst ever NOFX cover band Faux Effects will be taking on ‘The War on Errorism‘ from 2003 – shit, where did the time go? They’ve signed up Paul from Dividers / Bagster to help out with a few of those hard arse bass riffs – See ‘The Idiots Are Taking Over‘.
Melbourne’s The Resignators, who will be touring nationally with Dan Potthast around the time, will be giving Rancid covers a shot + a few originals.
Locals Batfoot taking some time off from having babies and playing a tribute set dedicated to the best of Teenage Bottlerocket.
To top all that off hitting the rooftop stage the acoustic stage returns.
Yvette Vials will be taking on a little Blink 182, specifically ‘Take Off Your Pants & Jacket‘.
Bec Stevens will be playing a handful of No Doubt covers + originals.
Billy Demos will smash out ‘More Betterness‘ by No Use For A Name front to back.
Ess-em is playing her unique originals plus a few Frenzal Rhomb bangers.
As always there will be plenty of pizza on board with a delightful drink selection including Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Orange Juice and Still Water to sooth that sore throat you’ll get from yelling your heart out.
The first 150 tickets are available for $43 via Bigcartel [Here]. Once they are gone, the final 150 will be $48 via Oztix.
The boat will depart from Star Casino Wharf – 54/56 Pirrama Rd, Pyrmont (Opposite the Star Casino).
It all runs from 12pm – 4pm. You’ll need to be there prior to ensure the boat doesn’t leave without you. Give yourself an hour or so to be safe. It won’t wait for you.
