Over the last five years, life is noise has expanded from presenting Perth shows for the likes of Boris, Kurt Vile, Built To Spill, Dead Meadow, Thee Oh Sees, and Mount Kimbie and starting up the monster Beaufort Street Festival, to promoting national tours for trailblazing instrumental acts like Grails, Tortoise and Earth alongside heavy behemoths like Deafheaven, Sleep, Neurosis, Russian Circles, High on Fire and Om. Along the way, there’s been a couple of festivals, and a whole stack of New Year’s Eves, Easter Thursdays and random parties.
To commemorate five years of noise, they’ve put together a very special line-up featuring some of Perth’s most diverse and explosive live acts on Thursday 2nd April at The Bakery.
LIFE IS NOISE: FIVE presents apocalyptic doom-merchants Drowning Horse in a very rare appearance; the mesmerizing psych-rock sounds of Mt. Mountain, the dreamy desert stoner rock of Puck, reverb-filled celestial shoegaze of Fait, a lethal dose of total sonic disintegration from power duo Kaan, the spellbinding noise madness of Chris Cobilis, along with RTRFM’s Full Frequency DJ Wil Bixler spinning tunes.
This is also one of the last chances you’ll have to witness live music in The Bakery’s brilliant atmosphere before the venue shuts its doors for good later this year. It’s the perfect time to say goodbye to a local institution that’s been integral to the success of life is noise.
Tickets for LIFE IS NOISE: FIVE are available from lifeisnoise.com, oztix and the venue for $15 + BF.
