The wait is over for fans of Southern California's Avenged Sevenfold who today release their fifth studio album, 'Nightmare'. The album was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace. Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy plays drums on Nightmare and is also touring with the band as they launch the album. will now play an All Ages show at The Fort in Brisbane as part of
their September tour. Thursday 23rd September is the date, tickets
on sale Friday 6th August. They will then be joined by The Audition
for an 18+ show at The Hi-Fi in Brisbane on the 24th. On the 25th they play 2
shows at Billboard in Melbourne, U18 Arvo and 18+ Night. Sunday
26th it's a Licenced All Ages affair at The Metro in Sydney. Tickets
on sale now for those shows.

UTOPIA RECORDS MOVES BACK TO THE CITY

Utopia Records is moving back into the heart of the Sydney CBD, right next to Town Hall on the Corner of Kent and Bathurst Street. The move is happening this September and until then they'll have their relocation sale going strong with shitloads of punk, metal and rock stock going cheaply. They also continue their run of 30th Anniversary shows. It's a rock affair this Friday night at The Gaelic Theatre. You can catch Hell City Glamours, Lust, Torche Le Monde, Devine Electric and Contraban playing, while the No Life 'Til Leather DJ's spin the tunes. Kicks off at 7pm, tix $20.

With The Oxford Tavern in Wollongong up and shutting their doors, a bunch of planned shows have been affected, one of which is US pop-punk mob Horace Pinker. Their Sunday 15th August show has now been shifted, and unplugged. They'll play acoustic at the Town Hall Hotel in Newtown. Guests will be Andy from Steppin' Razor and Not Ok. Entry is free and the gig kicks off at 6PM.

With Brisbane's Sounds Of Spring festival no longer taking place, the Take Action Tour's Saturday 18th September show, featuring Attack Attack!, Pierce The Veil and Dream On, Dreamer, will now take place at The HiFi, Brisbane.
The tour will benefit Australian charity ReachOut.com, raising both awareness and funds for the online mental health support service through ticket sales. Crapulous Gee Gaw and Fugg (Yup, someone found the time capsule
buried last decade) have a debut self-titled EP available now and
are set to launch it in such establishments at The Cabbage Tree
Hotel in Fairy Meadow on Friday night. Saturday, Newcastle look out,
Musk will be at the Lass O Gowrie Hotel and next Thursday 5th August is the
big one, they'll bring their rock stylings to The Sando in Newtown.

The band did their thing from 1997 until the mid 2000's, releasing 'Elements Of This Man Made Man' in 1998, a split with Not For You in 2002 and 'Inroads Out' in 2003 picking up many big name supports along the way and a slot on Big Day Out. As part of the ongoing celebration of their 20th anniversary, Sweden’s Opeth are releasing live footage and audio from the band’s recent performance at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall. Titled, 'In Live Concert at the Royal Albert Hall', it is due out on 17th September via Roadrunner Records. The performance includes two sets, the first consisting of the band performing 2000’s now-classic, breakthrough epic, Blackwater Park in its entirety, and the second, a chronologically arranged selection of material from the rest of Opeth’s extensive catalogue, totaling almost three hours of music. It will be available as a Limited Edition Vinyl Box Set, or a 5 disc (2DVD / 3CD) set, or a double DVD set.

Having just wrapped up their quick little run of shows alongside The Nation Blue where they plugged their latest release 'Origins', A Death In The Family have announced a couple of headline shows before they head off to Europe later this year. You can catch the band at The Arthouse in Melbourne on August 21st and Spectrum in Sydney on August 27th. They will also be supporting Leatherface on the Poison City Weekender show at East Brunswick Club on September 18th, tickets are selling fast for that one and won't last.
